Well last summer seems a long while ago now but what a marvellous long summer we had.We have had our fair share of rain recently but we are drying out again nicely. The tent sites are looking beautifully lush and green and despite the odd cold snap our guests have been able to make the most of the facilities here, especially the great pool and spa. Don’t hesitate to come and join us and be sure to check out any winter HOT DEALS that pop up on our website Book now at www.waihibeachtop10.com
Scott our groundsman and volunteer firefighter , along with other local stars like Mel from “The Flatwhite Café”, took on the challenge of the Sky Tower Stair Climb…….with full firefighting kit on.Phew!
They made it to the top in good time and raised a whole heap of money for leukemia research. So look out for Scott on your next visit and give him a pat on the back
Congratulations to Ian, Vicki and family, who are celebrating 20 years of owning and running Waihi Beach TOP 10 Holiday Resort. Ange put up a fascinating display of past photos over Easter weekend that attracted a lot of attention from our regular guests who have been here to witness some of the changes that Ian and Vicki have made in the last 20 years. They have changed the park from a traditional kiwi family campground to an up to date, sustainable, lush, new kiwi family holiday resort that has lead the way for other parks around New Zealand.
As part of the celebrations we have had and continue to have some awesome give-aways and deals throughout the year. Make sure you have liked our facebook page to stay in touch with all the latest news and deals. https://www.facebook.com/waihibeach/
End of an era
Pai Tapurau passed away in May. He will be forever remembered by those of us that knew him as the wonderful proud gentleman that helped to keep the park beautiful for so many years, He was a teller of great stories and always had a real twinkle in his eye and a huge smile on his face. You can find his story in our main kitchen facilities and in “our stories” here in the website.
We also saw the passing of our longest running van owner Mrs Noelene Reynolds, who will also be remembered with great fondness by Ian, Vicki and other staff and guests that knew her and her family well.
The end of June saw us saying goodbye to Angela who had been one of our grounds people then moved into the operations manager position over the last 3 years. We thank her for all of her hard work over this time wish her all the best with her new ventures.
The end of July has seen us saying welcome to Alberto Usseglio who comes to us from a host of other hospitality companies to be our new Operations Manager.
