Toppy’s Labour weekend appearance
Over the labour weekend Toppy the penguin became so hot he came out of hiding and made a surprise appearance. With the wather steadily turning up the dial on the heat, it is important we remember to teach our kids sun smart safety (i.e hats, sunglasses, sunscreen) and ensuring water is readily available to avoid dehydration. This is especially imortant to remeber with summer just around the corner to help prevent heat stroke!
Waihi Beach Resort offers variable suncare options, just pop in and see our friendly staff at reception. For more information on sun safety visit https://www.sunsmart.org.nz/
Summer arrives at Waihi Beach Resort 22.12.2019 and departs 20.03.2020.
Changing the face of mens health
Movember is New Zealand’s leading mens health charity born by the idea of two friends back in 2003. The aim of the movement is a challenge to those who are able, to grow out your beard and raise funds towards tackling mens prostate cancer, testicular cancer, mental health and suicide prevention. Alternatively you can take part in fundraising by either running or walking 60km over the month. Thats 60km for the 60 men lost to suicide every hour, ever day across the world. Here at Waihi beach Top 10 we are doing our bit to support the cause with 3 staff members participating in the Mo Challenge. This cause is particularly close to our hearts as Ian , our boss at Waihi Top 10, is a prostate survivor of 2008.
If you would like to help support the team at Waihi Beach Top 10 in making a difference please visit the link and follow the prompts: https://nz.movember.com/mospace/14023828?utm_medium=share&utm_source=dynamic&utm_campaign=copy-clipboard
